Worth Reaching for

Through painting, I can work internally reflecting on my thoughts and emotions, using color and symbolism. When I work with Metal I work more physically ,Cutting, shaping, and welding the material gives form to emotions that can be difficult to express in words. Together, the painting and sculpture create a conversation between my inner and outer self.
Sometimes we have to turn internally to recognize what has been felt or we may need to reconnect with parts of ourselves that may hold greater compassion and understanding . There may also be times where our experiences on the outside remind us to care for ourselves internally.
This piece is about recognizing the strength , reflecting and reconnecting with ourselves, and remembering that the parts of us that have endured the most are just as deserving of the kindness and love we offer to others.
